Self Storage for the Entire Year

Dymon's Unique Drive-in Bays

Dymon’s Drive-in Bays makes it easy to store all year round!

There are some people who think that self storage is just for personal storage use. Others think that self storage is just a temporary solution, only storing items for a few months. But, self storage is great for storing items throughout the entire year. It is also a great solution for business storage for inventory, files and electrical equipment.

If you do cleaning seasonally, then it is nearly time to do your fall cleaning and prepare your home for the winter months. We described what you needed to do for spring cleaning in a past blog post. It is important to do the same reorganization during the fall. Avoid having your home cluttered with summer and outdoor items such as patio furniture, lawn mowers and gardening equipment by placing these items in self storage for the winter months. Then, in the spring switch out the winter equipment such as snow blowers, shovels, outdoor sporting equipment in your storage unit. It will also soon be time to think about storing your boat or RV for the winter months.

The fall months are a good time to refresh and clean out your storage unit. Remove the items currently in the unit, then sweep it out and rearrange the boxes and items as you place them back in the storage unit. Place the boxes that you might need for the winter months to the front of the storage unit and place the summer items towards the back. Go through the stored boxes and throw away or donate items that you know that you will no longer need.

After the holiday season, instead of storing the holiday decorations in a musty attic or basement, place them in a storage unit. Dymon’s climate & humidity controlled storage units  are perfect to keep your personal belongings in good condition during storage. This system protects them from extremes in temperature and moisture. Another idea for winter storage is to put your holiday gifts in a storage unit to deter the “nosy” family members from trying to find their holiday presents!

With Dymon’s drive-in bays, you do not have to worry about unloading or loading your belongings in the inclement or extreme weather. You can drive into the bays, grab a cart and unload your car or truck without getting wet or cold. The elevators are easily accessible to the drive-in bays and to the storage units. With the climate controlled system, Dymon’s facilities  stay a constant temperature through the year. The drive-in bays makes it easy to store your belongings or business items all year-long!

Meanwhile, there are some items that should never be stored in self storage. Each self storage facility will have a list of “banned” items. Make sure that you follow that list and read your contract at the time of lending to rental. Before you rent a storage unit make sure that you know the list of items that should not be placed on self storage. This list will help you protect your personal belongings as well as protect those around you. 🙂

Finding a storage unit can be an overwhelming task especially if you aren’t familiar with all of the options and features available. It’s best to assess all of your storage needs before you even search for a local storage facility.Consider how long you might need the storage unit. Many facilities offer discounts for long-term storage but may also have specials for temporary storage.
