Lord Lansdowne  is the second of two retirement living facilities owned by Dymon Healthcare Corporation. Last month, we spotlighted our Duke of Devonshire facility.  It is time to focus on Lord Lansdowne. This facility is the newest generation in retirement living. It was built in 2007 in the heart of the Glebe neighborhood. Lord Lansdowne is steps away from the paths and parks near the Rideau Canal and is only 4km from Parliament Hill, Chinatown and Little Italy. The building is located near unique shops and upscale restaurants and steps away from Lansdowne Park and Frank Clair Stadium. It is located in a perfect location!

Lord Lansdowne is assisted living at its best. There is professional staff available 24 hours a day/7 days a week. There is a wide variety of flats available from 1-2 bedrooms to penthouse suites. Each suite has a kitchenette, fireplace, flat screen TV and luxurious bathrooms. The facility has such amenities as an activity room, eloquent dining room, with an Executive Chef, exercise room, beauty salon and a movie theatre with a 12’ screen and surround sound. Residents can have housekeeping and linen service as well as scheduled transportation services.  If you are not sure about retirement living, you can plan a temporary stay at Lord Lansdowne for a few days up to a month. This is helpful for seniors that might have received surgery or had an illness and aren’t ready to be fully independent yet. Residents who are only at the facility temporarily will also receive the same amenities as full residents.

The staff at Lord Lansdowne can develop individualized care programs to fit the retiree’s personal needs. Each day is filled with activities that are planned to enhance wellness and vitality. Lord Lansdowne also has a special care area for residents who have physical or cognitive disabilities. Residents to this special area can only be accepted after evaluation to ensure that the resident can be properly cared for. The nursing staff has access to the eMeds Network, which allows for real-time access to residents full and current medication profile. The nurses are available via an alert button in every suite and throughout the facility. There is a wireless network, as part of the security system of Lord Lansdowne, so the staff can locate the resident in need within a few seconds after an alert has been pushed. Each resident has a keyless entry to their suites as well.  Security throughout the facility is a high priority.

Moving from a large home to a retirement facility is a major life transition. That is why Lord Lansdowne offers the free services of a transition coordinator at our Duke of Devonshire  and Lord Lansdowne facilities. The transition coordinator simplifies the process of this major life event by helping with selling the home, prepping the home for sale, moving, legal services and more. The coordinator helps and guides the new resident and their family members through this transitional time.

Lord Lansdowne provides an elegant retirement facility with a focus on private lifestyle living. The staff at Lord Lansdowne prides itself on offering the best quality care in retirement living in Ottawa. Set up an appointment to visit us today!
