Soles4Souls is a Nashville based charity that procures shoes from footwear companies, retailers, churches, non-profits, ministries, civic groups, schools and individuals. Soles4Souls distributes these shoes free of charge to people in need around the world. Since its inception in 2005, Soles4Souls has given away over 17 million pairs of new & gently worn shoes to over 125 countries around the world including Kenya, Nepal and The United States. Donating shoes also helps lessen the load in landfills and helps prevent the toxic glue used in shoes from getting in our water supply.

Dymon Self Storage is proud to be partnering with Soles4Souls Canada to be a collection drop off point in Ottawa. There was a kick-off press conference on Monday, April 2, 2012 with Ottawa Mayor, Jim Watson, Dymon Self Storage Senior Vice President, Stephen Creighton and Local Heroes President, Mark Kosmos to kick off the campaign to collect 200,000 pairs of shoes for the month of April. This is part of the 1 Million donated shoes goal set by Soles4Souls in Canada for 2012. Dymon Self Storage is helping out by donating storage space for the collected shoes and creating a sorting center in our facilities for the donated shoes.

How can you help this very worthwhile cause? Its spring cleaning time and a great time to clear out the unwanted, but still in great condition shoes that are stored at the back of your closet! All types of shoes from sandals to boots are accepted by Soles4Souls. When donating the shoes, please tie or bind your shoes together for donation. You can donate your shoes at any of our 6 Dymon Self Storage locations in Ottawa. For more information on Soles4Souls, check out their Twitter page, their YouTube page or their Facebook page.
